Jim Burns

Board Member

James M. Burns is a Co-Founder of the law firm Genova Burns and a partner in the firm’s Newark, NJ office. He serves as Chair of the Healthcare & Hospital and Co-Chair of the Insurance & Reinsurance Industry Groups, as well as a member of the Transportation, Trucking, Shipping & Logistics Industry Group.

Jim has extensive expertise in insurance law, labor and employment law, and health care law, and has represented and served as outside general counsel for numerous acute care hospitals.

Jim brings extensive board governance and enterprise risk management experience to Solace House, having served on many for-profit and nonprofit boards, including Covenant House, Integrity House, and Community Health Charities.
