Clinical Psychotherapist

Solace House is an exciting growing non-profit service seeking a qualified LCSW Therapist to join our team! Located one stop away from Grand Central Station off the 7 train, we provide free one to one, confidential, therapeutic support for anyone experiencing suicidal ideation or engaging in self-harm. Bereavement counseling is available for those who have lost a loved one to suicide.

Solace House also offers support and advice to the family whose loved one is in suicidal distress. Our service allows anyone (family or friend) to make the initial contact on behalf of the person in crisis - thus avoiding added distress and possible avoidance of seeking help. This service is completely confidential and free of charge.

As we continue to grow as an organization, Solace House offers the opportunity for the right candidate to be an essential and valued part of our team as we better build out our organization’s services and capabilities.

The ideal candidates will:

  • Be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a certified SIFI field instructor or be eligible to take on the SIFI Course.

  • Starting off from 10 guaranteed hours per week could potentially increase over time.

  • Have your own Liability Insurance.

  • Have experience with assessment/in-take in crisis intervention.

  • Demonstrate excellent listening and communication skills.

  • Demonstrate great warmth and the ability to empathize.

  • Work as part of a clinical team.

  • Be flexible with working hours which may include weekend work.

The successful candidate shall be required to:

  • Build relationships with clients and work within the ethos and philosophy of Solace House.

  • Liaise with clients and their families as appropriate, with regards to, assessments, outcomes, interventions and reviews.

  • Receive ongoing supervision.

  • Actively participate in Solace House internal meetings e.g., staff meetings, clinical meetings, training as appropriate.

  • Periodically liaise with other professionals and organizations as appropriate.

  • Take responsibility for one’s own continued professional development.

  • Keep up to date with best practice and procedures at all times in line with NASW Code of Ethics.

  • The successful candidate will be required to complete fingerprinting and background check.
