Solace House Marathon 2020

Run for Team Solace House!

As a Charity Partner in the NYC Marathon, Solace House relies on this race as one of it's main fundraising sources. In lieu of the NYC Marathon's cancellation, this year we are hosting our own "team" marathon, where runners can achieve their end of the year goals while also giving back to the community! This is ongoing between now and November - Register here!

Running: Runners are encouraged to form teams of 2 or more people and split the difference of a full marathon (26.2 miles) among its team members. Teams can have members run separately or (safely) together throughout the time frame of Oct. 1 - Nov. 1, 2020. As an example for a team of 4 runners: Runner 1 completes 5 mi, Runner 2 completes 7 mi, Runner 3 completes 10 mi, and Runner 4 completes 5 mi. The team must collectively complete at least 26.2 miles (the length of a full marathon). Teams can run remotely from anywhere in the world.

Mileage must be recorded on a GPS device (watch, phone, etc), screenshot, and sent to sheena.mullan@solacehouseusa.org by Nov. 2, 2020. At the end of the event, awards will be given to teams with the highest mileage & highest fundraising efforts!

Fundraising: Each team will have their own fundraising page to raise money for Solace House throughout their Team Marathon journey. They can personalize their photos & stories to share why they are running. It could be to honor someone's memory or simply to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. Fundraising can begin as soon as a team is assembled in September until November 1st.
